Rich stovetop-brewed espresso is paired with warm milk, sweet maple syrup, cinnamon, and touch of vanilla for a smooth, gently spiced drink. It's simple enough for a weekday morning but cozy enough to make your daily coffee feel like a seasonal ritual.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons finely ground espresso roast coffee
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk (or oat milk)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for dusting
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Fill the base of the stovetop espresso maker with water to the fill line, and pack the filter basket with finely ground espresso roast.
  2. Assemble and place on the stove over medium heat. Brew until you hear the characteristic gurgle, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. While the espresso brews, warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisking in maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla. Froth with a whisk or milk frother until slightly foamy.
  4. Pour brewed espresso into two mugs, top with the spiced milk, and dust with extra cinnamon.
