Fire up the grill for a batch of crispy, saucy chicken wings that are perfect for game days, backyard gatherings, or causal summer dinners. The wings are seasoned with smoky spices and grilled until the skin is crisp and lightly charred, then tossed in a buttery hot sauce with a touch of honey for balance. Serve them hot with crunchy celery and plenty of ranch or blue cheese for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drums
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp each: garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper
  • ½ cup hot sauce (cayenne-style, like Frank’s)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high (about 400°F). Pat wings dry and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Grill wings over indirect heat for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the skin is crisp and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  3. Move wings to direct heat for a final 2-3 minutes per side to char the skin, watching closely so they don’t burn.
  4. Whisk together hot sauce, melted butter, and honey. Toss the hot wings in the sauce right before serving.
  5. Portion with kitchen scissors, pile onto a platter, and serve with celery and your dip of choice.
